โคดี แกร์เรตต์ รันเนลส์ (Cody Garrett Runnels; 30 มิถุนายน ค.ศ. 1985)[10][11] เป็นนักมวยปล้ำอาชีพและนักแสดงชาวอเมริกันที่รู้จักดีในชื่อ โคดี โรดส์ (Cody Rhodes) เจ้าของฉายา ดิ อเมริกัน ไนท์แมร์ (The American Nightmare) เป็นนักมวยปล้ำรุ่นที่ 2 ของตระกูลโรดส์ ลูกชายของ"ดิ อเมริกัน ดรีม" ดัสตี โรดส์ และน้องชายของดัสติน โรดส์ ปัจจุบันเขาเซ็นสัญญากับ WWE เป็นแชมป์อันดิสพิวเต็ด WWE นอกจากนี้เขายังเป็นที่รู้จักจากช่วงเวลาที่ออลอีลิตเรสต์ลิง ซึ่งเขาเคยเป็นผู้บริหารของสมาคม และเป็นแชมป์ AEW TNT Championship ถึง 3 สมัย

ชีวิตวัยเยาว์

โคดี โรดส์ เกิดที่เมือง Charlotte เมื่อวันที่ 30 มิถุนายน ค.ศ. 1985[1] เป็นบุตรของมิเชล รูบิโอ และนักมวยปล้ำอาชีพ Dusty Rhodes เขามีเชื้อสายคิวบาจากคุณตาฝ่ายแม่[12] เขามีพี่สาวชื่อ Teil นอกจากนี้ยังมีพี่ชายต่างแม่คือ Dustin Rhodes ซึ่งเป็นนักมวยปล้ำเช่นกัน และพี่สาวต่างแม่ชื่อ Kristin ซึ่งเคยเป็นเชียร์ลีดเดอร์ของทีม Dallas Cowboys[13] โรดส์ยังเป็นหลานของนักมวยปล้ำ Jerry Sags และ Fred Ottman[14] และมี Magnum T. โคดีเริ่มอาชีพมวยปล้ำในสมาคม Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) ปี 2006[1][24][25] ได้ทั้งแชมป์เฮฟวี่เวท OVW[1][26], แชมป์เทเลวิชั่น OVW[1], แชมป์เซาต์เทิร์นแทกทีม OVW[27] และแชมป์ทริปเปิลคราวน์คนที่ 4 ของ OVW ก่อนจะเปิดตัวกับค่ายหลัก WWE ปีต่อมา[28] และได้รับรางวัลนักมวยปล้ำดาวรุ่งแห่งปี 2007 ได้คว้าแชมป์โลกแท็กทีมสมัยแรกคู่กับฮาร์ดคอร์ ฮอลลี‎[29] ก่อนจะเปลี่ยนคู่แท็กทีมเป็นเท็ด ดีบีอาซีโดยการหักหลังฮอลลีและนำตำแหน่งไปให้เท็ด‎ตั้งชื่อทีมว่าไพรซ์เลส (Priceless)[30][31] ในปี 2009 โคดีกับเท็ดก็ได้ไปร่วมทีมกับแรนดี ออร์ตันกลายเป็นเดอะเลกาซี (The Legacy)[32][33] ช่วงต้นปี 2010 กลุ่มเลกาซีได้มีปัญหากัน[34][35] ในเรสเซิลเมเนีย ครั้งที่ 26 กลุ่มเลกาซีเจอกันแบบสามเส้าโดยออร์ตันเป็นฝ่ายชนะยุติบทบาทกลุ่มลงหลังจากร่วมกลุ่มกันมายาวนานถึง 18 เดือน[36]

ร่วมทีมกับพี่ชาย

ในรอว์ (2 กันยายน 2013) หลังจากที่แพ้แรนดี ออร์ตันนั้นส่งผลให้โคดีต้องถูกไล่ออกจาก WWE โดยคำสั่งของทริปเปิลเอช ประธาน COO[59] ซึ่งแท้จริงแล้วโคดีกำลังเตรียมตัวเข้าพิธีแต่งงานและไปฮันนีมูนกับแฟนสาวอย่าง แบรนดี รีด จึงสร้างเรื่องราวให้เขาถูกไล่ออกตามบท[60] ในรอว์ (30 กันยายน 2013) ทริปเปิลเอชกับสเตฟานี แม็กแมนออกมาที่เวทีและก็เชิญครอบครัวโรดส์ (ดัสตี, โคดี และโกลดัสต์) ให้ออกมาคุยกัน ทริปเปิลเอชบอกว่าเราให้โอกาสพวกนายแล้ว ให้โคดีเจอกับแรนดี ออร์ตันเพื่อรักษางานของโคดีแต่ก็แพ้ จากนั้นเราก็ให้โอกาสอีก ให้โกลดัสต์เจอกับออร์ตันแล้วก็แพ้อีก จากนั้นสเตฟานีก็ให้ดัสตีเลือกว่าจะให้ลูกคนไหนกลับเข้าทำงานแต่เขากลับบอกให้สเตฟานีไปลงนรกซะ ทริปเปิลเอชบอกจะให้โอกาสอีกครั้งให้โคดีกับโกลดัสต์เจอกับเซธ รอลลินส์และโรมัน เรนส์ในแบทเทิลกราวด์ ถ้าชนะได้ก็จะให้กลับเข้าทำงานทั้งสองคน แต่ถ้าแพ้ทั้งคู่ก็จะไม่มีวันได้กลับมา WWE อีกตลอดกาล และดัสตีจะถูกไล่ออกจากตำแหน่งเทรนเนอร์ NXT ด้วย ดัสตีขอต่อรองว่าจะอยู่ที่มุมเวทีของลูกๆด้วย ซึ่งสเตฟานีก็ตกลง ครอบครัวโรดส์กำลังเดินกลับแต่ก็โดนเดอะชีลด์ ขึ้นมากระทืบจนนอนกองกันทุกคน ในแบทเทิลกราวด์โคดีและโกลดัสต์เป็นฝ่ายเอาชนะเดอะชีลด์ได้ทำให้ครอบครัวโรดส์ได้กลับมาทำงานใน WWE อีกครั้ง[61]

ในรอว์ (14 ตุลาคม 2013) โคดีและโกลดัสต์ได้คว้าแชมป์แท็กทีมจากรอลลินส์และเรนส์โดยการช่วยเหลือของบิ๊กโชว์[62] ในรอยัลรัมเบิล (2014)เสียแชมป์ให้เดอะนิวเอจเอาต์ลอวส์ (โรด ด็อกและบิลลี กัน) คืนเดียวกันโคดีได้เข้าร่วมรอยัลรัมเบิลออกมาเป็นลำดับที่4 แต่ไม่ได้เป็นผู้ชนะ ในรอว์ (3 กุมภาพันธ์ 2014) โคดีและโกลดัสต์ได้ชิงแชมป์กับนิวเอจเอาต์ลอวส์ในกรงเหล็ก แต่ก็ไม่สามารถคว้าแชมป์คืนได้[63] ในเพย์แบ็ค (2014) หลังจากโคดีและโกลดัสต์แพ้แมตช์แท็กทีม โคดีบอกให้โกลดัสต์ไปหาคู่แท็กทีมใหม่ ในรอว์ (16 มิถุนายน 2014) โคดีได้เปิดตัวในบทบาทใหม่ในนามสตาร์ดัสต์จับคู่กับโกลดัสต์[64] ในรอว์ (25 สิงหาคม 2014) โกลด์และสตาร์ดัสต์ได้เป็นฝ่ายอธรรมโดยเล่นงานดิอูโซส์ หลังจากไม่สามารถคว้าแชมป์แท็กทีมได้ ทำให้ทั้งคู่ไม่พอใจ ในไนท์ออฟแชมเปียนส์ (2014) โกลด์และสตาร์ดัสต์คว้าแชมป์แท็กทีมจากอูโซส์ได้สำเร็จ[65] ก่อนจะเสียแชมป์ให้เดอะมิซและแดเมียน มิซดาวในเซอร์ไวเวอร์ซีรีส์ (2014) ต่อมาได้ทะเลาะกับโกลดัสต์และเจอกันในฟาสต์เลน (2015)แต่สตาร์ดัสต์เป็นฝ่ายแพ้ ต่อมาได้มีเรื่องกับสตีเฟน อาเมล นักแสดงซีรีส์เรื่อง Arrow ทำให้เจอกันแบบแท็กทีมในซัมเมอร์สแลม (2015)โดยสตาร์ดัสต์จับคู่กับคิง บาร์เร็ตต์ แพ้ให้อาเมลจับคู่กับเนวิลล์[66] เขาได้ลาออกจาก WWE ในเดือนพฤษภาคม 2016[67][68][69][70][71][72]

สมาคมอิสระและ AEW

หลังออกจาก WWE โคดีได้เซ็นสัญญาปล้ำให้กับสมาคมอิสระทั่วไป[73][74][75][76][3][77] วันที่ 19 กรกฎาคม 2016 โคดีได้เซ็นสัญญากับริงออฟออเนอร์(ROH)[78] และเซ็นสัญญาสั้นๆกับTNA[79][4] วันที่ 10 ธันวาคม 2016 โคดีได้ร่วมปล้ำกับนิวเจแปนโปรเรสต์ลิง(NJPW) และใช้ฉายา "The American Nightmare"[80][81] ปี 2017 โคดีได้คว้าแชมป์โลก ROHสมัยแรกจากคริสโตเฟอร์ แดเนียลส์และเป็นแชมป์โลกเส้นแรกในอาชีพของเขา[82] วันที่ 1 กันยายน 2018 โคดีกับ The Young Bucks ได้ร่วมกันเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดรายการเพย์เพอร์วิวศึก All In[83][84] และโคดีได้คว้าแชมป์โลกเฮฟวี่เวท NWAเป็นสมัยแรกจาก Nick Aldis ทำให้โคดีกับพ่อของเขา ดัสตี โรดส์ เป็นพ่อลูกคู่แรกที่ได้แชมป์โลก NWA[85] ในศึก Fighting Spirit Unleashed ของ NJPW โคดีก็ได้คว้าแชมป์ IWGP United States Championship จาก Juice Robinson เป็นแชมป์เส้นแรกในสมาคม NJPW[86] ในวันที่ 1 มกราคม 2019 โคดีได้เปิดตัวสมาคมใหม่ All Elite Wrestling (AEW) ซึ่งเขาร่วมกับ Matt และ Nick Jackson จะดำรงตำแหน่งรองประธานบริหาร[87] นอกจากนี้ยังได้เป็นแชมป์ TNT คนแรกของสมาคม[88][89][90] และลาออกจาก AEW ในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ 2022[91]
