รอยัลรัมเบิล (อังกฤษ: Royal Rumble) คือศึกใหญ่ของสมาคมมวยปล้ำ ดับเบิลยูดับเบิลยูอี จัดขึ้นในเดือนมกราคมของทุกปี โดยแมตซ์การปล้ำหลักในศึกนี้คือการปล้ำแบบ แบทเทิลรอยัล นักมวยปล้ำ 30 คน บนเวทีเดียว ผู้ชนะเพียงคนเดียวเท่านั้นที่จะได้เป็นผู้ท้าชิงหมายเลขหนึ่งและคู่เอก ในศึก เรสเซิลเมเนีย

รอยัลรัมเบิล เป็น 1 ใน Big Four ของ ดับเบิลยูดับเบิลยูอี อันประกอบไปด้วย รอยัลรัมเบิล, เรสเซิลเมเนีย, ซัมเมอร์สแลม และ เซอร์ไวเวอร์ ซีรีส์

รอยัล รัมเบิล จัดขึ้นครั้งแรกเมื่อวันที่ 24 มกราคม ค.ศ. 1988 ที่เมือง Hamilton, Ontario, Canada โดยคนแรกที่ชนะในแมตซ์นี้ก็คือ "แฮคซอว์" จิม ดักแกน ซึ่งการปล้ำ รอยัล รัมเบิล ครั้งแรกได้ถ่ายทอดสดให้กันชมฟรี แต่หลังจากนั้นถัดมาหนึ่งปีก็เป็นการชมแบบ Pay-Per-View และบุคคลที่คิดค้นแมตซ์การปล้ำ รอยัล รัมเบิล นี้ขึ้นมาก็คือ แพท แพทเตอร์สัน

กติกา

แมตช์การปล้ำนี้จะมีนักมวยปล้ำเข้าร่วมกันทั้งสิ้น 30 คน โดยจะมีนักมวยปล้ำสองคนแรกขึ้นมาบนเวทีก่อน และหลังจากนั้นทุกๆ 90 วินาทีก็จะมีนักมวยปล้ำขึ้นมาทีละคน (ถ้านับกันจริงๆก็ไม่ถึง 90 วินาที บางครั้งก็นานกว่าก็มี) นักมวยปล้ำที่เหลืออยู่บนเวทีคนสุดท้ายก็จะได้เป็นผู้ชนะไป

การที่จะกำจัดคู่ต่อสู้นั้น มีอยู่วิธีการเดียว คือ จับคู่ต่อสู้เหวี่ยงพ้นเชือกเวทีเส้นที่ 3 และเท้าทั้งสองข้างแตะพื้น นักมวยปล้ำคนนั้นก็จะถูกออกจากการปล้ำไปทันที แต่ถ้ากรรมการไม่เห็นก็อาจจะรอดตัวไปได้

ในปี 1995 ชอว์น ไมเคิลส์ ถูกเหวี่ยงพ้นเชือกเส้นที่ 3 แต่เท้าของเขาแตะพื้นเพียงแค่ข้างเดียว นั่นก็หมายความว่า ชอว์น ไมเคิลส์ ยังไม่ถูกคัดออกจากการแข่งขัน เช่นเดียวกับ ในปี 2000 เอกซ์-แพ็ค ได้ถูก เดอะ ร็อก เหวี่ยงพ้นเชือกเส้นที่สามและเท้าทั้งสองข้างแตะพื้น แต่กรรมการกลับมองไม่เห็น เอกซ์-แพ็ค รีบขึ้นเวที ทำให้เขาไม่ถูกคัดออกจากการแข่งขัน

ในปี ค.ศ. 1992 ถือว่าเป็นรางวัลใหญ่เพราะผู้ชนะ รอยัล รัมเบิล จะได้เป็น แชมป์ WWE โดยทันที ซึ่งผู้ชนะในปีนั้นก็ คือ ริก แฟลร์

และประเพณีที่ว่า "ใครชนะ รอยัล รัมเบิล จะได้เป็นผู้ท้าชิงแชมป์โลกหมายเลขหนึ่ง ในศึก เรสเซิลเมเนีย" เริ่มขึ้น ในปี 1993 เมื่อ โยโกะซูน่า ชนะในแมตช์การปล้ำ รอยัล รัมเบิล และได้ไปถ้าชิงแชมป์โลกจาก เบรต ฮาร์ต ในศึก เรสเซิลเมเนีย ครั้งที่ 9

การแบ่งค่าย

ในปี ค.ศ. 2002 ได้มีการแบ่งค่ายขึ้น ซึ่งในตอนนั้นมีเพียง รอว์ และ สแมคดาวน์ ผู้ชนะใน รอยัล รัมเบิล ตั้งแต่ปี 2003 เป็นต้นไป ก็จะมีสิทธิ์ได้เลือกว่าจะไปชิงแชมป์โลกของค่ายไหนระหว่าง รอว์ และ สแมคดาวน์ ซึ่งต่อมาก็มี เข็มขัดแชมป์โลก ECW ให้เลือกเพิ่มอีก 1 เส้น

ตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 2003 จนถึงปี ค.ศ. 2006 ผู้เข้าร่วม รอยัล รัมเบิล ทั้ง 30 คน จะเป็นตัวแทนจากรอว์ 15 คน และเป็นตัวแทนจากสแมคดาวน์ 15 คน ต่อมาในปี ค.ศ. 2007 ได้มีนักมวยปล้ำจาก อีซีดับเบิลยู เข้าร่วมด้วย จึงมีการแบ่งใหม่เป็นตัวแทนรอว์ 13 คน ตัวแทนจากสแมคดาวน์ 10 คน และตัวแทนจาก อีซีดับเบิลยู 7 คน และแน่นอนว่าผู้ชนะก็จะมีสิทธิ์ย้ายไปค่ายไหนก็ได้ และจะชิงแชมป์โลกของค่ายไหนก็ได้เช่นเดียวกัน

ในปี ค.ศ. 2009 ผู้เข้าร่วม รอยัลรัมเบิล ทั้ง 30 คน จะเป็นตัวแทนจาก รอว์, สแมคดาวน์ และ อีซีดับเบิลยู ค่ายละ 10 คน
