This made New Day the first team to hold the title under its current name (due to the Chris Benoit double-murder and suicide, WWE often starts with New Day's second reign when speaking of previous teams who have held the "Raw Tag Team Championship," although the official title history on their website does extend all the way back to the inaugural reign of Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle but with no match description, as is the case for all titles Benoit held in WWE). Prior to October 2020, all three members of New Day were recognized as champions under the Freebird Rule.
