Nepenthes reinwardtiana เป็นต้นหม้อข้าวหม้อแกงลิงเขตร้อนที่เป็นพืชพื้นถิ่นบนเกาะบอร์เนียวและเกาะสุมาตรา[3] และมีผู้พบพืชชนิดนี้จำนวนน้อยบนเกาะรอบ ๆ เช่น บังกา, นาตูนา,[4] นียัซ และซิเบรุต[5] ถึงแม้ว่ามีข้อมูลบางส่วนรวมมาเลเซียตะวันตก[6][7][8][9] และสิงคโปร์[7][10]เข้าไปในขอบเขตนี้ด้วย แต่บันทึกเหล่านี้มีการบันทึกข้อมูลที่ผิดพลาด[11][12]
มีการตั้งฉายาเฉพาะ reinwardtiana เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแด่ Caspar Georg Carl Reinwardt พืชชนิดนี้มีชื่อสามัญว่า Reinwardt's pitcher-plant.[13]
