Well, there is a thai contributor on commons, who is ignoring our message on his pdd. He's tagging all the pictures, he's uploading as « own work ». In my humble opinion, it is copyvio... Moving Cryptool to CrypTool

(My apologies for this message being in English) The vandal General Tojo is spamming Wikipedia by removing references and adding his books as the only reference. The books are nothing more than reprints of out of copyright sources, with spelling errors from the title page on forward (For example it is James McClymont, not MacClymont, and Gaspar Correia, not Correa, and Charles Edwards Lester, not Charles Lester Edwards). This article is one of his targets, please watch for removal of valid references and adding of the spam references by new users or IP's. The books spammed so far are:

Air France head office image

This image of the Air France head office en:File:Air France HQ.png is a non-free image because France says that architects have copyrights applying to images of their recent architectural works. The English and French Wikipedias allow the headquarters image to display, since the image illustration is needed to show what the company headquarters looks like. The English and French Wikipedias have paragraphs discussing the headquarters.

Will the Thai Wikipedia accept this usage of a nonfree image? It is not possible to produce a "free" image of the Air France head office because of the copyright issue with France. WhisperToMe 04:50, 29 มิถุนายน 2553 (ICT)

Vector skin

As you will have noticed in the new vector skin, there is a menu for Special characters including characters from many languages, but not for Thai. I would like to propose a menu of Thai characters to be added to this menu. Please see my subpage no:Bruker:V85/Alphabets#Thai for my proposed lay-out for Thai. It is functional for people (like me), who write a little Thai in articles (in other languages), but do not have Thai keyboards. Thai stamp

On de.wikipedia's reference desk, we are attempting to identify several postage stamps, including one from Thailand: The one on the left in the second line from the bottom in this image.

Translating en:Deekshabhoomi to Thai

Hi, I am Shivashree from India. I've been working on a project to translate the article en:Deekshabhoomi in various languages.

Deekshabhoomi is the place in central India where about 400,000 people converted to Buddhism at a single moment on October 14, 1956. It has a special connection with the Thailand and Thai people. Several visitors from Thailand visit the place every year. The bronze idol of Buddha there is donated by Thai students learning in the City. There also is a facility of living for Bhikkhus where Thai Bhikkhu students often reside for their stay in India (I just visited one Bhikkhu Sakshita last Sunday there).

Fundraiser2010/Beat Jimmy

Hello Wikimedians! My name is Kelly and I am working for the Wikimedia Foundation during the 2010 Fundraiser. My job is to be the liaison between the Thai community and the Foundation. This year's fundraiser is intended to be a collaborative and global effort, we recognize that banner messages that perform well in the United States don't necessarily translate well, or appeal to international audiences.

I'm contacting you as I am currently looking for translators who are willing to contribute to this project, helping to translate and localize messages into Thai and suggesting messages that would appeal to Thai readers on the Fundraising Meta Page. We've started the setup on meta for both banner submission, statistical analysis, and grouping volunteers together.
Use the talk pages on meta, talk to your local communities, talk to others, talk to us, and add your feedback to the proposed messages as well! I look forward to working with you during this year's fundraiser.

The Fundraising Committee is issuing all interested community members a challenge: we want you to beat Jimmy. The appeal from Jimmy Wales and the corresponding banner have been tested head-to-head with other successful banners, and the results are clear: it's our best performing message... by a lot. This year we have a lofty fundraising goal; we need all of our banners to bring in donations like the Jimmy Appeal, but no one wants to keep the Jimmy banner up for two months. We want to run donor quotes, and other wonderful ideas, but we have to have banners that work as well as or better than the Jimmy appeal.

We've just released the highlights from a donor focus group, and the results of our donor survey. With one month to the launch of the fundraiser, the messages we test must be driven by data from our tests and surveys - we can no longer rely on instinct alone.

We've redesigned our fundraising meta pages with the Jimmy challenge; check out the survey results and propose/discuss banners that reflect these findings. Add the banners you think will 'beat Jimmy' here to be tested Tuesday October 12 against Jimmy.
