คาราคัล (อังกฤษ: Caracal) เป็นแมวขนาดกลาง มีการกระจายพันธุ์ในเอเชียตะวันตก, เอเชียใต้ และทวีปแอฟริกา
คำว่า caracal มาจากคำในภาษาตุรกี คำว่า "karakulak" ซึ่งแปลว่า "หูสีดำ"[3] ในอินเดียเหนือและประเทศปากีสถาน คาราคัลรู้จักกันในชื่อ syahgosh (स्याहगोष/سیاه گوش) หรือ shyahgosh ซึ่งในคำในภาษาปากีสถานแปลว่า หูสีดำ เช่นกัน[4] ในภาษาแอฟริคานส์เรียกคาราคัลว่า Rooikat ซึ่งแปลว่า "แมวแดง"[5]
ถึงแม้ว่ามันจะมีชื่ออื่นอย่าง ลิงซ์เปอร์เซีย, ลิงซ์อียิปต์ และ ลิงซ์แอฟริกา มันก็ไม่ได้จัดว่าเป็นลิงซ์ แต่เชื่อกันว่า มันเป็นญาติใกล้ชิดกับเสือไฟแอฟริกาและเซอร์วัล คาราคัลถูกจัดว่าเป็นแมวขนาดเล็ก แต่ก็เป็นแมวขนาดเล็กที่หนักที่สุด รวดเร็วที่สุด เร็วใกล้เคียงกับเซอร์วัล
