ลิงซ์แคนาดา (อังกฤษ: Canada lynx, Canadian lynx) เป็นสัตว์เลี้ยงลูกด้วยนมในวงศ์ Felidae เป็นญาติใกล้ชิดกับลิงซ์ยุโรป มีขนหนาสีเงิน-น้ำตาล มีแผงขนที่หน้าและกระจุกขนที่หู มีขนาดพอๆ กับลิงซ์ชนิดอื่นในสกุล มีขนาดเป็นสองเท่าของแมวบ้าน พบในประเทศแคนาดาและรัฐอะแลสกา รวมทั้งบางส่วนทางตอนเหนือของสหรัฐอเมริกา

อนุกรมวิธาน[แก้]
มีการพิจารณากันว่าจะจำแนกสัตว์ชนิดนี้เป็น Lynx canadensis หรือ Felis canadensis ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของปัญหาที่ว่า สัตว์ 4 ชนิดใน Lynx ควรมีสกุลเป็นของตนเองหรือไม่ หรือแค่จัดเป็นสกุลย่อยของ Felis[2][3] แต่ปัจจุบันได้ยอมรับในสกุล Lynx จอห์นสัน และคนอื่นๆ รายงานว่า Lynx ได้มีเครือบรรพบุรุษร่วมกับ เสือพูม่า, แมวดาว (Prionailurus bengalensis), และเชื้อสายของแมวบ้าน (Felis) เมื่อ 7.15 ล้านปีมาแล้ว Lynx ได้แยกตัวออกมาเป็นเผ่าแรก ประมาณ 3.24 ล้านปีก่อน[4]

มีสามชนิดย่อยที่เป็นที่ยอมรับ:
- L. canadensis canadensis
- L. canadensis mollipilosus
- L. canadensis subsolanus[5]: ลิงซ์นิวฟันด์แลนด์ มีขนาดใหญ่กว่าชนิดย่อยบนแผ่นดินใหญ่ มันสามารถฆ่าลูกกวางเรนเดียร์ได้ เมื่อกระต่ายหิมะขาดแคลน
