งานประกาศผลรางวัลออสการ์ ครั้งที่ 7 เป็นงานมอบรางวัลสำหรับภาพยนตร์ที่เข้าฉายในปี ค.ศ. 1934 งานจัดขึ้นที่ Biltmore Bowl โรงแรม Biltmore ลอสแอลเจลลิส ในครั้งนี้มีการอนุญาตให้เขียนแสดงความคิดเห็นเพิ่มเติมลงในใบลงคะแนนเสียงรอบสุดท้าย เนื่องจากหลายฝ่ายไม่พอใจที่ Bette Davis จากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Of Human Bondage และ Myrna Loy จากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง The Thin Man ไม่ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงรางวัล
ตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1935 - ค.ศ. 1938 รางวัลดนตรีประกอบภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม (Best Score) จะมอบให้กับค่ายเพลงแทนที่จะมอบให้กับนักแต่งเพลงเหมือนครั้งอื่น ๆ
