การเลือกปฏิบัติต่อบุคคลที่เป็นเอเซ็กชวล หรือที่เรียกว่า เอซโฟเบีย (อังกฤษ: acephobia)[1][2][3] หรือ เอโฟเบีย (อังกฤษ: aphobia) เมื่อบ่งชี้ถึงบุคคลที่เป็นเอสเปก (เอโรแมนติกและ/หรือเอเซ็กชวล)[4][5][6][7] ครอบคลุมทัศนคติ พฤติกรรม และความรู้สึกเชิงลบต่อเอเซ็กชวลหรือบุคคลที่ระบุว่าเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสเปกตรัมเอเซ็กชวล ความรู้สึกหรือการตีค่าเชิงลบที่มีต่อเอเซ็กชวลรวมไปถึงการลดทอนความเป็นมนุษย์ ความเชื่อที่ว่าเอเซ็กชวลเป็นความผิดปกติทางจิต ว่าบุคคลที่เป็นเอเซ็กชวลไม่สามารถมีความรู้สึกรักได้ และการปฏิเสธที่จะยอมรับว่าเอเซ็กชวลเป็นรสนิยมทางเพศที่แท้จริง เอเซ็กชวลบางครั้งอาจสับสนกับการอยู่เป็นโสด การงดเว้นการมีเพศสัมพันธ์ การต่อต้านเพศวิถี หรือภาวะด้อยความต้องการทางเพศ[8][9]
