ภาษาโควาร์ (کھووار) จัดอยู่ในภาษากลุ่มดาร์ดิก มีผู้พูดหลักในชิตรัล ประเทศปากีสถานทางตะวันตกฉียงเหนือ ในหุบเขายาซินและคูปิส ในคลิกิส บางส่วนของสวัตตอนบน เป็นภาษาที่สองในคลิกิสและฮันซา เชื่อกันว่ามีผู้พูดภาษาโควาร์จำนวนเล็กน้อยในอัฟกานิสถาน จีน อินเดีย ทาจิกิสถานและในกรุงอิสตันบูล

ภาษาโควาร์มีลักษณะของภาษาตระกูลอินโด-ยุโรเปียน อย่างชัดเจน ตัวอย่างเช่นการใช้สรรพนาม
