ระบบลีกฟุตบอลอังกฤษ หมายถึงระบบในวงการฟุตบอลสโมสรของอังกฤษ ประกอบไปด้วยการแข่งขันระหว่างสโมสรในระดับต่าง ๆ ซึ่งเกี่ยวโยงกันผ่านการเลื่อนชั้นและการตกชั้น

ประวัติ

ในแต่ละลีก จะมีชื่ออย่างเป็นทางการ และในลีกระดับสูงจะมีชื่อของผู้สนับสนุนกำกับ โดยในระดับชั้นตั้งแต่ระดับ 5 ลงไป จะเรียกว่า "สเตป" หรือ นอกลีก โดยในระดับ 5 จะถูกเรียกว่า "สเตป 1" และระดับ 6 ถูกเรียกว่า "สเตป 2" และต่อเนื่องไปตามลำดับ

ในแต่ละลีกจะมีระบบการเลื่อนชั้นและตกชั้นที่เชื่อมโยงในอันดับที่ติดกัน โดยทีมที่ประสบความสำเร็จจะเลื่อนชั้นขึ้นไปในอันดับเหนือขึ้นไป และทีมที่ได้อันดับล่างของตารางในแต่ละฤดูกาลจะตกชั้นลงไปเล่นในลีกชั้นล่างถัดไป ซึ่งในทางทฤษฏีแล้วทีมสมัครเล่นสามารถไต่อันดับขึ้นจากลีกล่างสุดและสามารถเป็นแชมป์พรีเมียร์ลีกได้ แต่ในความเป็นจริงการเลื่อนชั้นในแต่ละลีกจะมีระบบที่แตกต่างกันไป ทั้งในจำนวนทีมที่เลื่อนชั้น เงื่อนไขในการเลื่อนชั้น ความพร้อมของทีม และความพร้อมในการเงินของทีมนั้น ในปัจจุบันนอกจากทีมใน 5 อันดับบนแล้ว จะมีการแข่งขันในลักษณะระดับที่เท่าเทียมกันในหลายลีก แบ่งตามภูมิภาค และในแต่ละลีกก็จะมีแบ่งย่อยออกเป็นหลายดิวิชัน ซึ่งในลีกระดับล่างจะมีหลายลีกที่จัดขึ้นโดยไม่ได้เข้าร่วมกับสมาคมเช่นกัน
