อึ่งงิ้มในภาษาจีนแต้จิ๋วหรือหวงฉิน (黄芩)ในภาษาจีนกลาง ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์: Scutellaria baicalensis อยู่ในวงศ์ Lamiaceae พืชชนิดนี้เป็นพืชปลูกในไซบีเรีย มองโกเลีย ภาคตะวันออกไกลของรัสเซีย จีน และเกาหลี [1]รากแห้งเป็นสีเหลืองอมน้ำตาล ตรงกลางมีเส้นสีแดงอมน้ำตาล ตำรายาจีนใช้รากทำยาขับพิษ ขับร้อน[2] สารสำคัญในรากได้แก่ baicalein, baicalin, wogonin, norwogonin, oroxylin A[3]และ β-sitosterol [4]
