How do you create a compact TOC? The current TOC is obviously too long. I'm very new to wikipedia so please help. _/|\_

I copied the template from the english wikipedia, it needs some Thaiification. And of course a similar template is needed with the Thai letters. Ahoerstemeier 18:16, 21 มี.ค. 2005 (UTC)

I've replaced some names into Thai, however, there are 3 names that have different spelling. 'เบงกาลี (wikipedia)' or 'เบ็งกาลี(Thai L10N)', 'ตากาล็อก (wikipedia)' or 'ตากาลอค (Thai L10N)' and 'อุซเบก (wikipedia)' or 'ภาษาอุบเบกิสถาน (Thai L10N)' -- Ampere 10:51, 4 เม.ย. 2005 (UTC)

Using Google I find เบงกาลี but not เบ็งกาลี, and I find both ตากาลอก and ตากาล็อก but only one entry for ตากาลอค, and on a fairly unreliable page at that (under an entry for words of Indonesian language in various languages, they put down ภาษาไอ๊ซ์แลนด์ ... which is Icelandic). I find อุซเบก, but only two entries on Dutch sites for ภาษาอุซเบกิสถาน (one of which is the Dutch Wikipedia entry for Uzbeks). Just so you know. -- Ungvichian 9:08 5/4/48

It seems the mentioned names are from old version of the Thai L10n page. It had been revised after that, before someone removed the contents totally and put a pointer to this page instead. In the corrected version, IIRC, 'ภาษาอุบเบกิสถาน' was fixed to 'ภาษาอุซเบกิสถาน', 'ตากาลอค' to 'ตากาล็อก'. All Indic languages mentioned in that page, including the 'เบ็งกาลี' spelling, referred to the book "อินเดีย อนุทวีปที่น่าทึ่ง" (India: Amazing Mini-Continent) by กรุณา-เรืองอุไร กุศลาสัย. I have added translations based on that book (leaving Bengali as is), as well as some language names that are based on country names. --Thep 12:31, 14 มิถุนายน 2007 (UTC)
