จีนวิทยา (อังกฤษ: Sinology) หรือที่เรียกอีกอย่างว่า จีนศึกษา (อังกฤษ: Chinese studies) เป็นสาขาย่อยของสาขาวิชาอาณาบริเวณศึกษาหรือเอเชียตะวันออกศึกษา ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการวิจัยทางสังคมศาสตร์และมนุษยศาสตร์เกี่ยวกับประเทศจีน เป็นสาขาวิชาที่เน้นการศึกษาอารยธรรมจีนเป็นหลักผ่านภาษา ประวัติศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรม วรรณคดี ปรัชญา ศิลปะ ดนตรี ภาพยนตร์ และวิทยาศาสตร์ของจีน ต้นกำเนิดของสาขาวิชานี้ "อาจตามรอยไปถึงการตรวจสอบที่นักวิชาการจีนริเริ่มขึ้นจากอารยธรรมของพวกเขาเอง"[1]

สาขาวิชาจีนวิทยามักกล่าวถึงในวงวิชาการตะวันออก ในอดีตถูกมองว่าเทียบเท่ากับการประยุกต์นิรุกติศาสตร์กับวรรณกรรมคลาสสิกของจีน จนถึงศตวรรษที่ 20 จีนวิทยามักถูกมองโดยทั่วไปว่ามีความหมายถึง "นิรุกติศาสตร์จีน" (ภาษาและวรรณคดี)[2] ในยุคปัจจุบันจีนวิทยาได้ขยายขอบเขตการศึกษาเป็นวงกว้างออกไปโดยรวมถึง ประวัติศาสตร์จีน อักษรศาสตร์ และหัวข้ออื่น ๆ
