กำยาน (ชื่อสามัญ Storax หรือ snowbell[1]) เป็นพืชประมาณ 130 ชนิดพันธุ์ในสกุล Styrax วงศ์ Styracaceae จัดเป็นไม้พุ่มขนาดใหญ่หรือไม้ยืนต้นขนาดเล็ก เป็นพืชประจำถิ่นในเขตอบอุ่นถึงเขตร้อนในซีกโลกเหนือ โดยส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในเอเชียตะวันออกและเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ รวมถึงข้ามเส้นศูนย์สูตรไปยังอเมริกาใต้[2] ยางไม้ได้จากต้นกำยานเรียนกว่ากำยาน (storax หรือ benzoin อย่าสับสนกับ Liquidambar storax balsam)
