อันตอน ปัฟโลวิช เชคอฟ (รัสเซีย: Анто́н Па́влович Че́хов[note 1], อักษรโรมัน: Anton Pavlovich Chyekhov, แปลตรงตัว'ɐnˈton ˈpavləvʲɪtɕ ˈtɕexəf'; 29 มกราคม ค.ศ. 1860[note 2] – 15 กรกฎาคม ค.ศ. 1904[note 3]) เป็นนายแพทย์, นักเขียนเรื่องสั้น และ นักเขียนบทละครคนสำคัญชาวรัสเซีย[3] เชคอฟเขียนบทละครสี่เรื่องที่ถือกันว่าเป็นงานคลาสสิกโดยนักเขียนและนักวิพากษ์วรรณกรรม[4][5] ระหว่างที่ทำงานเขียนเชคอฟก็ยังเป็นนายแพทย์ไปด้วยในขณะเดียวกัน ครั้งหนึ่งเชคอฟเปรียบการเป็นแพทย์กับการเขียนว่า "การแพทย์เป็นภรรยาตามกฎหมายและการเขียนเป็นภรรยาน้อย"[6]
