กลุ่มภาษาบาตานิก เป็นกลุ่มของภาษาในกลุ่มภาษามาลาโย-โพลีเนเซีย ตระกูลภาษาออสโตรนีเซียน มี 3 กลุ่มคือ ภาษาอีวาตัน ภาษาบาบูยัน และภาษาอิตบายัต ใช้พูดในหมู่เกาะบาตาเนสซึ่งเป็นหมู่เกาะทางตอนเหนือของฟิลิปปินส์ (ระหว่างไต้หวันกับเกาะลูซอน) อีกกลุ่มหนึ่งคือภาษายามิ ใช้พูดบนเกาะกล้วยไม้ใกล้กับไต้หวัน
Yang (2002) ได้สืบสร้างภาษาบาตานิกดั้งเดิม[2]
การจัดหมวดหมู่
[แก้]แมลคัม รอสส์ (2005) และรอเจอร์ เบลนช์ (2015) จัดไว้สี่ภาษาดังนี้:[3][4]
- ภาษายามิ (หรือ Tao) บนหมู่เกาะบาตาเนส
- ภาษาอิตบายัตบนเกาะอิตบายัต
- ภาษาอีวาตัน
- ภาษาถิ่นอีวาไซ (= บัสโกอีวาตัน) บนเกาะบาตัน
- ภาษาถิ่นอีซามูรุง (= อีวาตันใต้) บนเกาะบาตัน (ตอนใต้), เกาะซับตัง
- ภาษาอีบาตัน (หรือบาบูยัน) บนหมู่เกาะบาบูยัน
โมริงูจิ (1983) จัดภาษากลุ่มบาตานิกไว้ดังนี้

รายงานจาก Paul Jen-kuei Li (2000)[5] ภาษายามิเป็นภาษาที่มีความใกล้เคียงกับภาษายามิอิตบายัตมากที่สุด และภาษาอีราราไลเป็นภาษาที่คงเดิมมากที่สุดในบรรดาภาษากลุ่มบาตานิกทั้งหมด (Li 2000)
