ลาป่าทิเบต (kiang) เป็นลาป่าที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุด มีถิ่นกำเนิดในที่ราบสูงทิเบตซึ่งมีอาศัยแบบทุ่งหญ้าเทือกเขาสูง สูงจากระดับน้ำทะเล 4000-7000 ม. มีการกระจายพันธุ์ถึงลาดัคห์ในประเทศอินเดีย[2][3], ในราบของที่ราบสูงทิเบตและตอนเหนือของประเทศเนปาลต่อไปยังชายแดนเขตปกครองตนเองทิเบตด้วย[4]
