  • Significance: Located within the Mission West Historic Business District in South Pasadena, CA the Watering Trough and Wayside Station was built in 1906 by architect Norman F. Marsh in the American Craftsman style. The trough, dedicated to the city on May 20, 1906 was intended "to impress visitors arriving at the railway station across the street." As a centralized marker of the Santa Fe Railway, it also functioned as a rest stop for horses and men as they traveled between Los Angeles and Pasadena.
