History:

Jean-Francois Harvey, who graduated from the University of Ottawa founded Harvey Law Group in 1992 in Montreal , Canada. Harvey Law Group is headquartered in Hong Kong. Areas of practice include investment and business immigration, residence and citizenship programs, business and corporate law, company formation, labor and employment issues, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning and structuring, real estate, contracts and agreements, intellectual property, environmental law, and cross-border trade issues.

The practice originally focused on pharmaceutical, law but eventually moved into immigration law in Canada. For the next 15 years, HLG specialized in investment immigration exclusively to Canada but began to explore new markets and set up offices internationally.

Jean-Francois Harvey was born in Northern Quebec, Canada in xxxx. His father xxx was a judge of the Superior Court of Quebec, the highest trial court in the province. He earned his Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1992. He opened the Harvey Law Group (HLG) in Montreal, Quebec in XXX. The firm initially focused on pharmaceutical law and was involved litigation allow the uses n of new synthetic molecules for cancer treatment. The firm additionally played a role in a number of major class action lawsuits against Bristol-Myers and Dow Corning. In XXX HLG shifted its focus from Pharmaceuticals to Immigration law due in large part to Jean-Francois experience working with clients in Montreal's Chinatown neighbourhood and giving advice on how to immigrate to Canada for business investment.

As Founder and Global Managing Partner of HLG, Jean-Francois expanded the firm from 1 to more than 19 offices worldwide. He has served as Chair of the Canadian Bar Association, Quebec Division, Immigration Section; and the National Chair of the Canadian Bar Association, Citizenship & Immigration Law Section. Jean-Francois has given over 400 speeches on business in China, immigration, and on the importance of adopting new approaches to old problems. He has authored numerous articles and opinion pieces on business immigration worldwide and has been featured in Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and South China Morning Post.

Bastien Trelcat Profile

Bastien Trelcat is a Managing Partner for Harvey Law Group Southeast Asia. He was born in Saint-Saulve, in Northern France in XXX. In 2002, Bastien graduated in Provence from Aix-Marseille University. He won the Landwell Award and received a full scholarship to the City University in Hong Kong. After finishing university, Bastien returned to Paris and accepted a position with XXX law firm who transferred him to China where he spent 9 years working in Beijing and Shanghai. Bastien relocated to Bangkok in 2014 where he opened the Thailand branch of the Harvey Law Group and become a managing partner. He has since expanded the firm's presence in Southeast Asia by opening offices in Myanmar, Cambodia and the Philippines. Bastien additionally oversees the management of Harvey Law Group's three offices in Vietnam.
