เจมส์ โจเซฟ "จิม" พาร์สันส์ (เกิด 24 มีนาคม ค.ศ. 1973) เป็นนักแสดงชาวอเมริกัน เป็นที่รู้จักอย่างดีจากบทเชลดอน คูเปอร์ ในละครซิทคอม เดอะบิกแบงธีออรี ทางช่องซีบีเอส เป็นที่กล่าวขานว่าการแสดงของเขาเป็นเหตุผลสำคัญที่ทำให้ละครประสบความสำเร็จ[2][3][4] เขาได้รับรางวัลมากมายจากการแสดง เช่น รางวัลสมาคมนักวิจารณ์โทรทัศน์ (Television Critics Association) สำหรับความสำเร็จสูงสุดในแนวคอเมดี[5] รางวัลสมาคมผู้กระจายเสียงแห่งชาติ (National Association of Broadcasters) สำหรับความสำเร็จในวินัยศิลปะเฉพาะด้าน[6] รางวัลเอ็มมี 3 รางวัล สาขานักแสดงนำโดดเด่นในซีรีส์แนวคอเมดี[7] และรางวัลลูกโลกทองคำสาขานักแสดงยอดเยี่ยมในรายการโทรทัศน์แนวมิวสิคัลหรือตลก
ในปี ค.ศ. 2011 พาร์สันส์แสดงละครบรอดเวย์ครั้งแรก รับบท ทอมมี โบตไรต์ ในละครเวทีเรื่องเดอะนอร์มัลฮาร์ต ซึ่งเขาได้เข้าชิงรางวัลดรามาเดสก์อะวอร์ด เขากลับมารับบทเดิมในละครเดิมฉบับภาพยนตร์ และได้เข้าชิงรางวัลเอ็มมีครั้งที่เจ็ด ในสาขานักแสดงสนับสนุนโดดเด่นในเรื่องสั้นหรือภาพยนตร์
ชีวิตช่วงแรก
