วงศ์ย่อยปลากระดี่ เป็นวงศ์ย่อยของปลาน้ำจืดในวงศ์ใหญ่ Osphronemidae ใช้ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ว่า Luciocephalinae

สมาชิกในวงศ์ย่อยนี้ ประกอบไปด้วยสกุลต่าง ๆ ได้แก่^[1]

Luciocephalus Bleeker, 1851
Parasphaerichthys Prashad & Mukerji, 1929
Sphaerichthys Canestrini, 1860
Trichogaster Bloch & Schneider, 1801

แต่ในปัจจุบัน ได้มีการยกเลิกสกุล Colisa โดยให้ไปใช้สกุล Trichogaster แทน และปลาที่อยู่ในสกุล Trichogaster เดิม ก็หันกลับไปใช้สกุล Trichopodus Bloch & Schneider, 1801 ซึ่งเดิมเคยเป็นชื่อพ้องมาก่อนแทน^[2]^[3]

จัดเป็นปลาขนาดเล็ก ขนาดโตเต็มที่ไม่เกินฝ่ามือของมนุษย์ พบกระจายพันธุ์อยู่ทั่วไปในแหล่งน้ำจืดหลายประเภทของภูมิภาคเอเชียใต้, เอเชียอาคเนย์ และบางส่วนในเอเชียตะวันออก
