Nylig dukket dette fotoalbumet fra Josef Terbovens reise i Nord-Norge sommeren 1942 opp på det private markedet. Riksarkivet har sammen med Falstadsenteret anskaffet seg det og gjør det nå tilgjengelig for alle. Albumet inneholder 375 fotografier med trykte bildetekster og en lengre innledning stilet til “Herr Reichskommissar”. Trolig ble albumet gitt som gave til Terboven personlig. De fleste fotografiene har karakter av uformelle øyeblikksbilder tatt under reisen fra Trondheim gjennom Nordland, Troms, Finnmark og til Finland. Det er bilder fra selskap og drikkelag, fra møter med norsk natur og lokalbefolkning, fra inspeksjon av tyske styrker og fra samtaler med lokale befal langs reiseruten.
