เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร (อังกฤษ: information and communication[s] technology; ไอซีที) เป็นศัพท์ที่มักใช้ในความหมายคล้ายกับเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ (ไอที) แต่ขยายขอบเขตเพิ่มขึ้นโดยเน้นเรื่องบทบาทของการสื่อสารแบบรวมศูนย์ (ยูซี) [1] กับบูรณาการของสิ่งต่อไปนี้ได้แก่ โทรคมนาคม (ทั้งสายโทรศัพท์และสัญญาณไร้สาย) คอมพิวเตอร์ตลอดจนถึงซอฟต์แวร์วิสาหกิจ มิดเดิลแวร์ หน่วยเก็บข้อมูล และระบบโสตทัศน์ต่าง ๆ ซึ่งทั้งหมดช่วยให้ผู้ใช้สามารถเข้าถึง เก็บบันทึก ส่งผ่าน และจัดดำเนินการสารสนเทศได้ [2]
นักวิจัยทางวิชาการเริ่มใช้ศัพท์ ไอซีที ตั้งแต่คริสต์ทศวรรษ 1980 เป็นต้นมา [3] แต่มันเป็นที่นิยมหลังจากเดนนิส สตีเฟนสันใช้ศัพท์นี้ในรายงานเพื่อแถลงต่อรัฐบาลสหราชอาณาจักร เมื่อ ค.ศ. 1997 [4] และปรากฏในหลักสูตรแห่งชาติฉบับปรับปรุงของอังกฤษ เวลส์ และไอร์แลนด์เหนือเมื่อ ค.ศ. 2000
นอกจากนี้ศัพท์ ไอซีที ในปัจจุบันนี้ก็ยังหมายถึงการลู่เข้าของเครือข่ายโทรศัพท์และระบบโสตทัศน์ เข้าสู่เครือข่ายคอมพิวเตอร์ผ่านทางเคเบิลสายเดียวหรือระบบเชื่อมต่อหนึ่งเดียว มีสิ่งจูงใจทางเศรษฐกิจขนาดใหญ่ เพื่อที่จะผสานระบบโสตทัศน์ การจัดการสิ่งปลูกสร้าง และเครือข่ายโทรศัพท์ เข้าสู่ระบบเครือข่ายคอมพิวเตอร์โดยใช้ระบบเคเบิล การจัดการและการกระจายสัญญาณ แบบรวมศูนย์เพียงหนึ่งเดียว ซึ่งประหยัดค่าใช้จ่ายอย่างยิ่งเนื่องจากเครือข่ายโทรศัพท์จะถูกขจัดออกไป
