โคโรนา

เราสามารถสังเกตเห็นโคโรนาของดวงอาทิตย์ได้ด้วยตาเปล่า ในเวลาที่เกิดสุริยุปราคาเต็มดวง

โคโรนา (อังกฤษ: Corona) คือพลาสมาชนิดหนึ่งในชั้นบรรยากาศของดวงอาทิตย์หรือวัตถุท้องฟ้าอื่นๆ ที่แผ่พุ่งออกไปในอวกาศเป็นระยะทางหลายล้านกิโลเมตร สามารถมองเห็นได้ง่ายในเวลาที่เกิดสุริยุปราคา นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถสังเกตการได้จากกราฟโคโรนา มีรากศัพท์มาจากคำในภาษาละติน ซึ่งมีความหมายว่า "มงกุฎ" (crown)
