English: This temple is located in KlongTakot subdistrict, Photharam district. In the King Rama I era, the Mon people evacuated to this area and reconstructed the temple which was built since U-Thong era. They named it “Peato” (Middle Temple). Afterwards, it was renamed “Wat Kongkaram” by a king’s consort ‘Klin’.
There are murals inside the temple built in the Ayutthaya period. Paintings, including early Image of the Buddha's plague of Persian soldiers were riding western military battle. And a new era paintings in the reign of King Rama IV are the Buddha’s biography. The ceiling is decorated with the stars and flowers in gold on a red background.
A principal ancient site is the ubosot which is surrounded by 7chedis created in Mon style. The ubosot features 250-year-old mural paintings. Furthermore, there are dwellings for monks and many antique items of ethnic Mons.
