วีวิชยูอะเมอรีคริสต์มาส (อังกฤษ: We Wish You a Merry Christmas) เป็นเพลงคริสต์มาสที่ได้รับความนิยมอย่างมากจากสหราชอาณาจักร
ประวัติ[แก้]
ความเป็นมาของเพลงคริสต์มาสนี้ ไม่มีหลักฐานที่แน่ชัด แต่ได้รับการสันนิษฐานจากเดวิส กิลเบิร์ต[1] และวิลเลียม ซันเดย์[2] ว่าอาจมีที่มาจากวรรณกรรมเรื่องซิสเวสเตอร์[3] หรือมาจากวรรณกรรมฮุกส์ แต่หนังสือนิวออกซฟอร์ดบุ๊คออฟคลารอล ที่ตีพิมพ์ในปี พ.ศ. 2535 ได้บอกว่าไม่ได้มีที่มาจากวรรณกรรม แต่เป็นเพลงดั้งเดิมประเทศอังกฤษอยู่แล้ว[4]
อย่างไรก็ตามในปี พ.ศ. 2478 เพลงนี้ได้รับการเผยแพร่โดยอาเธอร์ วาร์เดล[5] วาทยากรชาวอังกฤษ โดยใช้ชื่อเพลงว่า "ไอวิชยูอะเมอรีคริสต์มาส"[6] โดยเขามอบหมายให้นักศึกษาสาขาการแสดงจากมหาวิทยาลัยบริตันร่วมร้องประสานเสียงและออกสู่สายตามวลชนในวันที่ 6 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2478[7]
