ประวัติ

นาโปลี ยุคแรกก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ ค.ศ. 1904 โดย กะลาสี เรือ ชาวอังกฤษ ชื่อ วิลเลี่ยม พ็อตส์ ในชื่อว่า Napoli Foot-ball & Cricket โดยใช้ สีฟ้า สีของ ทหารเรือ เป็นสีประจำสโมสรมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้และใช้ สีดำ เป็นสีของกางเกงในอีก 2 ปีต่อมาคือ ค.ศ. 1906 สโมสรได้เปลี่ยนชื่ออีกครั้งโดยเหลือแค่ Napoli Foot-ball Club

ในปี ค.ศ. 1926 จิออร์จิโอ อัสคาเรลลี ประธานสโมสรในขณะนั้นได้ทำการเปลี่ยนชื่อสโมสรอีกครั้งเป็น AC Napoli และใช้ชื่อนี้มาถึง 78 ปีก่อนที่ในปี ค.ศ. 2004 ออเรลิโอ เด ลอเรนติส ผู้สร้างหนังชื่อดัง ชาวอิตาลี ได้ทำการเทคโอเวอร์สโมสรพร้อมกับเปลี่ยนชื่ออีกครั้งเป็น S.S.C. Napoli มาจนถึงปัจจุบัน

ในยุคทศวรรษที่ 80 สโมสรได้ทำการดึงตัว ดิเอโก มาราโดนา กัปตันทีมชาติอาร์เจนตินาชุดแชมป์ ฟุตบอลโลก 1986 เข้าร่วมทีม แล้วเข้าสู่ยุครุ่งเรืองของสโมสรในช่วง ยุค 80s ตอนปลาย — ยุค 90s ตอนต้น สามารถพาทีมคว้าแชมป์เซเรียอา ได้ถึง 2 สมัยและคว้าแชมป์ ยูฟ่าคัพ ในปี 1989 ได้อีก 1 สมัย

ความหมายของชื่อสโมสร

นาโปลี ที่อิตาลี จะมีฉายาที่เรียกกันว่า อัซซูรี่ แต่เมืองไทยเรียก ลาน้ำ เกิดจากสัญลักษณ์ของทีมสมัยก่อนเป็นรูปลา(ยุค AC Napoli) +บวกกับ ทีมก่อตั้งครั้งแรก ปี1904 ก่อตั้งโดยกะลาสีเรือชาวอังกฤษจึงกลายเป็น ลาน้ำ ที่เรียกกันถึงทุกวันนี้ (ลาน้ำ : เจ้าพ่อแห่งท้องทะเล) 1904 กะลาสีเรือ ชาวอังกฤษ ใช้สีฟ้า สีของทหารเรือ เป็นสีประจำสโมสร | ในปี 1926 จิออร์จิโอ อัสคาเรลลี ประธานในขณะนั้น เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น AC NAPOLI ตราสโมสรเป็นรูปลา แฟนบอลที่นั้นเรียก The litle Donkey | 2004 เปลี่ยนเป็น S.S.C.Napoli ถึงปัจจุบัน
