ภาษาไอริช

ภาษาไอริช หรือ ภาษาไอร์แลนด์ (Gaeilge) เป็นภาษากอยเดลภาษาหนึ่งที่จัดอยู่ในตระกูลภาษาอินโด-ยูโรเปียน มีรากฐานจากประเทศไอร์แลนด์ ซึ่งในอดีตมีการพูดโดยคนเชื้อสายไอริช ผู้ปัจจุบันมักพูดภาษาอังกฤษ ภาษาไอริชมีฐานะเป็นภาษาทางการในประเทศไอร์แลนด์ กำหนดโดยรัฐธรรมนูญของไอร์แลนด์ นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นภาษาที่ใช้อย่างเป็นทางการของสหภาพยุโรป และ ในไอร์แลนด์เหนือของสหราชอาณาจักรอีกด้วย
