ศาสนาโซโรอัสเตอร์[1] (อังกฤษ: Zoroastrianism) เป็นศาสนาประเภททวิเทวนิยม[2] ได้ชื่อตามศาสดาคือซาราธุสตรา เรียกอีกอย่างว่า ศาสนาปาร์ซี เพราะเกิดขึ้นในเปอร์เซีย (ประเทศอิหร่านในปัจจุบัน) เมื่อประมาณหกศตวรรษก่อนคริสตกาล
ศาสนานี้เรียกอีกอย่างหนึ่งว่าลัทธิมาสดา ซึ่งมีความหมายว่าลัทธิบูชาพระอหุระมาซดะ ซึ่งเทพเจ้าผู้เป็นจอมอสูร และด้วยเชื่อว่าพระอหุระมาซดะเป็นเทพเจ้าแห่งความดีและแสงสว่าง ศาสนิกชนจึงใช้แสงประทีปเป็นเครื่องหมายแห่งการบูชา จึงเป็นศาสนาบูชาไฟด้วย นอกจากนี้ยังเชื่อว่ามีเทพเจ้าอีกเป็นผู้สร้า้งสิ่งชั่วร้ายทั้งปวง คือ พระอังคระไมนยุ
ที่กำเนิด
ศาสนาโซโรอัสเตอร์ เกิดขึ้นตรงดินแดนอันเป็นที่ราบสูง อนุมานราวแคว้นอาเซอร์ไบจานติดไปทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือใกล้ชายแดนของรัสเซียในปัจจุบัน
การเผยแพร่
โซโรอัสเตอร์มีบุตร 6 คน เป็นบุตรชาย 3 คน และบุตรสาว 3 คน เกิดแต่ภรรยา 3 คน ลูกสาวคนหนึ่งสมรสกับอัครมหาเสนาบดี ลูกสาวคนนี้เป็นกำลังในการเผยแพร่ศาสนาแก่บิดาเป็นอันมาก ส่วนลูกชายทั้ง 3 คน รับราชการผู้บังคับบัญชากองทหารอยู่กองทัพพระมหากษัตริย์เปอร์เซียและได้เป็นกำลังอย่างยิ่งในการเผยแพร่ศาสนา

ศาสนาโซโรอัสเตอร์มีนิกายอยู่ 2 นิกาย แต่ละนิกายจะแต่ต่างทางด้านพิธีกรรม ได้แก่

สาเหตุความเสื่อม
1. คือเมื่อสมัยพระเจ้าอเล็กซานเดอร์มหาราชมีชัยต่อเปอร์เซียพระองค์ทรงบังคับให้ชาวเปอร์เซียนับถือเทพเจ้ากรีก
2. เมื่อชาวอาหรับมารุกรานก็ได้บังคับให้ชาวเปอร์เซียนับถืออิสลาม ชาวเปอร์เซียที่ไม่ยอมนับถือจึงอพยพมาที่อินเดีย ในเมืองบอมเบย์ (มุมไบ)ปัจจุบันมีชาวโซโรอัสเตอร์ในอินเดีย 9 หมื่นคน
