"ออลด์แลงไซน์" (สกอต: Auld Lang Syne, /ˈɔːl(d) lɑŋˈsəin/: หมายเหตุ เขียนเป็น "s" มากกว่า "z")[1] เป็นบทกวีสกอตแลนด์ และเป็นเพลงที่ได้รับความนิยมเพลงหนึ่งโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในประเทศที่พูดภาษาอังกฤษ ตามประเพณีจะร้องเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองในการเริ่มต้นปีใหม่ในช่วงนาฬิกาตีเมื่อเที่ยงคืนพอดี นอกจากนั้นยังใช้ร้องในงานศพ พิธีสำเร็จการศึกษา และการร่ำลาในโอกาสอื่น เป็นต้น

ออลด์แลงไซน์เป็นบทกวีภาษาสกอตที่โรเบิร์ต เบิร์คส์เขียนขึ้นในปี 1788[2][3] แต่ยึดจากเพลงพื้นบ้านสกอตที่เก่าแก่กว่านั้น และเนื้อหาบางส่วนมาจากบัลลาด "Old Long Syne" ที่เจมส์ วัตสันพิมพ์ขึ้นในปี 1711[4] ชื่อ "Auld Lang Syne" หมายถึง "เมื่อเนิ่นนานมา" เนื้อเพลงส่วนใหญ่ว่าด้วยการให้อภัยและการลืมเรื่องบาดหมางที่ผ่านมา

  1. Scots "lang syne" (close cognate with standard English "long since". Variations are 'Syn', and 'Sin', all being contracted forms of 'Sithen'). Properly pronounced with a hard "S" (like "sign") rather than the soft "Z" sound usually sung.

เพลงชาติเกาหลีใต้ตั้งแต่ปี 1945 ถึง 1948

ในไต้หวันใช้ทำนองเพลงนี้ในวันจบการศึกษาและในงานศพ ในญี่ปุ่นมีผู้แปลงเป็นเพลงชื่อ Hotaru no Hikari (แสงหิ่งห้อย) ใช้ในงานพิธีจบการศึกษาเช่นกัน นอกจากนั้นปราชญ์วรรณกรรมชาวอินเดีย รพินทรนารถ ฐากูร นำทำนองมาแต่งเป็น About the Old Days สำหรับในประเทศไทย มีการนำเพลง "ออลด์แลงไซน์" มาใส่เนื้อร้องภาษาไทย ใช้ชื่อเพลงว่า "สามัคคีชุมนุม" ผู้ประพันธ์เนื้อร้องเป็นภาษาไทยคือ เจ้าพระยาพระเสด็จสุเรนทราธิบดี[6]

ในเกาหลี เพลงนี้ชื่อ "ชักบยอล" (작별, การอำลา) ซึ่งตั้งแต่ปี 1919 ถึง 1945 ใช้เป็นเพลงชาติของรัฐบาลพลัดถิ่นเกาหลี และระหว่างปี 1945 ถึง 1948 เป็นทำนองของเพลงชาติเกาหลี ส่วนเนื้อร้องยังใช้มาจนถึงเพลงชาติปัจจุบัน[7]
