ภาษาคาวาร์-บาตี หรือ นาร์ซาตี เป็นภาษากลุ่มอินโด-อารยันที่มีผู้พูดในภูมิภาคจิตราลทางตอนเหนือของปากีสถาน และบริเวณชายแดนอัฟกานิสถาน มีผู้พูดภาษานี้ 9,000 คน อยู่ในปากีสถานเพียง 1,500 คน และ 7,500 คนอยู่ในอัฟกานิสถาน ชื่อ คาวาร์-บาตี หมายถึง "คำพูดของชาวคาวาร์"^[2]

การซึกษาและการจัดอันดับ[แก้]

ภาษาคาวาร์-บาตียังไม่ได้รับการศึกษาจากนักภาษาศาสตร์อย่างละเอียด ที่มีศึกษาไว้คือ George Morgenstierne (1926) และ Kendall Decker (1992)

ภาษานี้จัดเป็นภาษากลุ่มอินโด-อารยัน ในกลุ่มย้อยดาร์ดิก อย่างไรก็ตาม ชื่อดาร์ดิกไม่ใช่ศัพท์ทางภาษาศาสตร์ แต่เป็นศัพท์ทางภูมิศาสตร์^[3]
