จุดเริ่มต้น

เล็กซัส ได้ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2532 รถยนต์รุ่นแรกคือ แอลเอส 400 และ อีเอส 250 โดยใช้นำรถยนต์โตโยต้ารุ่นเซลซิเออร์ (Celsior) และรุ่นวินด้อม (Windom) เข้าไปขายในแบรนด์เล็กซัส ซึ่งใช้เครื่องยนต์ขนาด 4000 ซีซี V8 รหัส 1UZ-FE สำหรับแอลเอส 400 และ ขนาด 2500 ซีซี V6 รหัส 2VZ-FE สำหรับอีเอส 250
