Branches for SCB

Sawasdeekrap - Do you have information about how many branches SCB has in Thailand ? I said about 300 here, but actually I am not that sure !

& if you can read Chinese, have I got the name right : 泰國商業銀行 ?? or could that be : 泰華商業銀行 ??? Mori Riyo 09:23, 8 มิถุนายน 2007 (UTC)

Use "tai guo" as shown here zh-classical:泰國商業銀行 or if you are who write that page, you are right. "Tai hua" is another bank. --Octahedron80 03:57, 12 มิถุนายน 2007 (UTC)

I have been to the SCB Investor Info Page & this Page. I used the rather "dumb" way of counting with a pen & get 803 locations. The List is temporarily posted Here, I think if you want to read it better download it & view it off-line!!

I think now it comes down to do we count "subs" like these as a branch.

TESCO LOTUS SUPHANBURI "SUB" BRANCH THARAHAT SUPHANBURI - CHAINAT, MUANG, SUPHANBURI 0-3550-2854-5 Fax:0-3550-2856

THANONSONGPRAPA (DONMUANG PLAZA) "SUB" BRANCH SIKAN SONGPRAPA, DONMUANG, BANGKOK 0-2928-3510-1 Fax 0-2928-3526

I would rather count them as a "desk" or a "kiosk" but not a "branch" so Now: 803 - 237 of them = 566; that number is still greater than the number of branches I counted for KTB - but that's a different story.

For the general style of Thailand's bank it divide branch's pattern into 5 level as following;

Headquarter (สำนักงานใหญ่)

• Office (or Business Office) (สำนัก หรือ สำนักธุรกิจ) is the major branch.
  • Branch (สาขา) mean the branch which locate in community and office time is between 8am - 3pm .
  • Sub Branch (สาขาย่อย) for major bank such as BBL or KBank it refers to the branch which locate in minor community as Branch but it smaller than and it open 8am to 3pm as Branch, but in minor bank or some major bank such as SCIB SCB and BTi sub branch also mean micro branch too.
    • Micro Branch (also สาขาย่อย) which locate in community center such as Department Store, the Plaza or transportation hub (bus terminal, railways station, airport), it open to 8pm

      these 4 levels the customer can do almost banking activities.

      • Desk or Kiosk (จุดบริการ หรือเคานท์เตอร์บริการ) -- usually locate in community center like Micro Branch but customer can exchange or pay bill only.
